It seems like everywhere you go in this country, you hear story after story of Americans who have been let down by the private health insurance system. Parents in Texas unable to buy coverage for their infant born with a heart defect. A Los Angeles woman forced to stop chemotherapy for months while fighting her insurer's claim that her cancer was a pre-existing condition. Patients whose life-saving treatments and therapies are cut short due to annual or lifetime coverage limits.

Join Oakland County Treasurer Andy Meisner for a workshop with JVS on how to prevent foreclosure. Items that will be discussed are: your options, trends in the mortgage industry, the foreclosure timeline, decreasing home values, and where to go for help.

The "Michigan Summit: Blueprint for Change" conference was held on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing, Michigan. The theme of the conference was "People Power from the Ground Up" and the impressive array of speakers, panelists, sessions, and exhibits amplified this message. Approximately 500 people attended the 4th annual conference and heard from, and spoke with, key thought leaders from throughout the state and across the nation.
