For far too long, tough reforms I have championed to hold Wall Street banks and insurance giants accountable for the current economic crisis have languished in the U.S. Senate. There is still no plan in place to recoup taxpayer bailout money and to stop future bailouts and economic crises from recurring.

It's time to finish the job by going to petersforcongress.com/wallstreetreform and signing the online petition demanding action.

If you are like tens of thousands of families in Oakland County, you have seen firsthand the devastation that runaway greed by big banks and insurance companies has caused real people all across our country and in our communities.

Maybe someone you know lost their job, their home, or their savings.

Maybe you are outraged, like me, that there is still no plan in place to require taxpayer money used to bail out these institutions be repaid, and that millions of taxpayer dollars were spent on bonuses for CEOs instead of helping our people and small businesses.

Don't let them do it again. The big banks and their army of lobbyists are fighting tooth and nail to prevent reform that would hold them accountable. Join me in demanding Congress act on Wall Street reform NOW! Go to petersforcongress.com/wallstreetreform.

Together let's fight for tough reforms that will protect our economy from future financial crises, require Wall Street banks to repay 100 percent of the bailout money they received from taxpayers and stop the outrageous executive bonuses and pay schemes that incentivize reckless investment.

Sincerely,

Congressman Gary Peters

PS, Let's make our voices heard! Please tell your friends about this petition. Together we can make a big difference!
