ROYAL OAK — The Michigan Association of Police and Michigan Nurses Association today endorsed Aaron Bailey for the 13th District State Senate seat representing a portion of Oakland County.
“Aaron Bailey stands on the side of working families, and he’ll preserve public safety and health services that keep our families safe and healthy. He supports minimum nurse-to-patient ratios and banning mandatory overtime for nurses to make sure that patients receive the optimum care they need,” said Ken Fletcher, Michigan Nurses Association associate executive director for governmental relations and outreach.
“Aaron Bailey is ready to reform government and create jobs in Michigan. He knows we must rebuild the middle class, support small businesses and fight for working families.”
“As a veteran, I understand the important work our nurses and police officers do to keep our families healthy and safe, and they shouldn’t have to keep enduring cuts that put special interests before our families’ safety,” Bailey said.
“Strong, safe communities are the key to attracting new investments and jobs to Oakland County. I will work tirelessly to get our community moving forward again.”
Bailey is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, and served as an Airborne-Ranger qualified Infantry Officer in the U.S. Army. Bailey served with a Special Operations Task Force in Afghanistan in 2007.
In addition to his military experience, Bailey holds a Bachelor of Science degree in systems engineering and an MBA with distinction from the University of Michigan. Prior to launching his Senate campaign, Bailey worked as a business strategist in the Detroit office of McKinsey & Co., which specializes in helping businesses, government organizations and nonprofit groups succeed in the rapidly changing economic environment.
