Remembering our friend Dr. Claire Colman

Recently we lost our good friend, former president of the Birmigham-Bloomfield Democrats, former Execuitve Committee member of the Oakland County Democratic Party and the 9th District Democratic Party, and former president of Detroit WAND, Dr. Claire Ann Colman. Dr. Colman, 63, of Bloomfield Hills, died on Thursday, December 10, 2009.

We want to thank Claire Colman for her lifetime of service to the Democratic Party and for her passion for progressive values. She fought for democratic values and human rights her whole life. She was loved and will be deeply missed. Our condolences to Dr. Colman's family and friends.

The funeral will be held at the Ira Kaufman Chapel on Sunday, December 13, 2009, at 1:00pm (18325 W. Nine Mile Road, Southfield, MI 48075). Rabbi Joseph Klein will officiate. Interment at Clover Hill Park Cemetary. Please visit http://www.irakaufman.com for additional details.

Beloved wife of Michael Colman and the late Dr. David Jeremy Patt. Cherished mother of Joseph (Christy Silvester) Patt and Brian Patt. Adoring Grandmother of Isadora Maxine Silvester. Dear sister of David (Judy) Slatkin. Sister-in-law of Roberta Patt, Luana Kyselka, Michael Patt, Judee Herman, Sal Herman and Carol Pine. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; many cousins, relatives and comrades. Pre-deceased by her parents, Max and Bertha Slatkin, older sister Sondra Bernard and brother Edgar Slatkin.
