BDC Pub Crawl, Friday, August 21, 2009

Yes, now that we could drive on Woodward Ave. again, it was time to crawl on 12 Mile! Our second annual Pub Crawl, held on Friday, August 21, was a terrific success!

Like last year, we had four stops on the tour. Our route this year was Amicis Pizza (7pm to 7:45pm), Berkley Front (8pm to 8:45pm), 24 Seconds (9pm to 9:45pm), and Hartfield Lanes (10pm to ??).

A record crowd came out for an evening of fun, conversation, and refreshment! Thanks to all who attended - it was great to see long-time friends and also to meet new members!

Berkley Dems at the OCDP's birthday celebration for President Obama, July 25, 2009

The Oakland County Democratic Party hosted a special birthday picnic to celebrate President Barack Obama's first birthday as our President! At the beautiful Jaycee Park right here in Berkley, we joined folks from down the street and across the county with fun and games, food, and conversation!

Berkley Dems at the OCDP Phil Hart Dinner, Sunday, December 7, 2008

Members of the Berkley Democratic Club enjoyed the 48th Annual Phil Hart Dinner, held on Sunday, December 7, 2008 at the Troy Marriott. The keynote speaker was Jim Hightower, and also speaking were Congressman-elect Gary Peters and Oakland County Treasurer-elect Andy Meisner.

Special kudos to Lisa Platt Auensen for designing and arranging the dinner program book on behalf of the Oakland County Democratic Party, and also for designing our Berkley club's ad in this year's book. Great job Lisa!

Thanks to the previous weekend's automotive-themed warm-up act on Woodward Ave., we were ready for the Main Event - our first annual Pub Crawl! Also, we premiered our new Berkley Dems Tee Shirts and wore them with pride!

Berkley Democratic Club meeting, Thursday, March 6, 2008

The BDC held another informative and engaging meeting with special guests Andy Meisner, Mary Ellen Brennan, and Jane Boudreau. Each spoke about their upcoming races and engaged the club in dialog about issues and events.

Berkley Democratic Club's 2008 Annual Meeting, Thursday, February 7, 2008

Our Annual Meeting featured Lt. Gov. John Cherry who spoke with the group on the state of the State and engaged in conversation before and after the session. We also held our election of club officers and discussed issues and topics of local, regional, and national importance.
